kaKno means « basket » in Yogam (a native language in Cameroon). kaKno is a brand spotting high quality, traditionally crafted baskets from Senegal. Through this brand’s name, the founder wanted to highlight the link between her roots and the origin of those fantastic baskets. kaKno supports women empowerment and financial freedom. Baskets are all handmade by women and the art of weaving is a legacy for their daughters. Our baskets are made of grass and recycled plastic. The terrific and colorful design is a demonstration of how our queens are happy expressing their art. Weaving and selling those beautiful baskets allow them to support their families. Through kaKno, you don’t only buy decorative products; you support handmade African art, you protect nature and you participate in women empowerment and independence.
